Rise Trade tells me there’s a $2,300 "balance certification charge" required before they process it

I asked for an explanation, and they said it’s part of their final compliance step to confirm account solvency. I’ve never heard of any broker requiring a “balance certification” just to release funds that already belong to me. They insist it’s standard and will be refunded. But every time I ask for proof, they dodge the question or send a vague response. This feels like fraud. I’ve read about schemes like this where they keep dragging you along until you stop paying or run out of hope. I don’t want to fall into that trap. If anyone’s gone through this and actually got their money, I’d love to hear your story. At this point, I’m considering contacting a lawyer.
