Garmin (GRMN) joined the IBD Big Cap 20 in the stock-screening lists updated on Sept. 25, while cybersecurity platform Datadog (DDOG) entered both the IBD 50 and Big Cap 20. Artificial-intelligence server maker Super Micro Computer (SMCI) was also added to Big Cap 20. In total, 12 companies joined different IBD focus lists that day, while several others were removed.
The screens evaluate companies based on earnings, sales, share-price performance and relative strength. They are designed to track businesses showing a combination of growth, fundamental momentum and technical strength. Inclusion or removal is not, by itself, a buy signal; company results, valuation and broader market conditions remain relevant to any assessment.
Garmin’s earnings momentum supports Big Cap 20 entry
Garmin makes GPS and navigation products as well as devices for sports and fitness. Its products are also used in cars, trucks, boats, aircraft and home security systems. In its most recent quarter, the company delivered its fourth consecutive quarter of double-digit sales growth and its third straight quarter of double-digit profit growth.
After Garmin released its results, GRMN shares rose 41.2% on July 29. The stock then entered a consolidation phase and began forming a cup-with-bottom pattern. As of the Sept. 25 close, Garmin had risen in four of the previous five trading sessions and carried a composite rating of 99, the highest level in the rating system. Its addition to Big Cap 20 puts the recent combination of earnings growth and share-price performance in focus.
Four companies added to IBD 50
The IBD 50 is a growth-stock screen covering 50 companies with relatively strong price performance and fundamental results. Agnico Eagle Mines (AEM), Datadog, Ouster (OUST) and SiTime (SITM) were added on Sept. 25.
Companies removed from the IBD 50 at the same time included Celestica (CLS), Krystal Biotech (KRYS), LandBridge (LB) and Eli Lilly (LLY). The lists change as share-price performance, earnings data and relative strength develop, so an addition or removal does not mean a company’s fundamentals changed fundamentally in a single day.
Harmony Gold profit rises 207%
Harmony Gold Mining (HMY) and SiTime were added to the IBD Sector Leaders list. Although the recent advance in gold stocks has cooled, Harmony Gold’s profit still increased 207% year over year in the latest quarter, while revenue rose 69%.
SiTime supplies timing devices and was also included in the sector-focused screen. IBD Sector Leaders covers 33 industries, and companies selected for the list generally show strong revenue and profit growth in recent quarters while remaining competitive on fundamental measures and share-price performance.
Aris Mining (ARIS) and Celestica were removed from Sector Leaders. Gold prices, mining costs and changes in corporate earnings remain specific factors to monitor when assessing Harmony Gold Mining’s subsequent performance.
Nvidia and Super Micro added to Big Cap 20
The Big Cap 20 focuses on large-cap growth companies. Datadog, Garmin, Nvidia (NVDA) and Super Micro Computer were added on Sept. 25. Both Nvidia and Super Micro are tied to demand for artificial-intelligence infrastructure: Nvidia supplies graphics processors and computing platforms, while Super Micro makes servers and related computing equipment.
F5 Networks (FFIV), Okta (OKTA), Palo Alto Networks (PANW) and Atlassian (TEAM) were removed from the list. The screen seeks large companies with comparatively strong earnings and share-price performance. These businesses generally have larger market capitalizations than smaller growth companies, but their size does not eliminate share-price volatility.
IPO Leaders list unchanged
The IPO Leaders list had no additions or removals in this update. It focuses mainly on recently listed companies in an early expansion phase that also show signs of earnings growth and technical strength. Newly public stocks can be affected by expectations for earnings growth, changes in post-listing supply and demand, and shifts in market risk appetite.
Avnet reaches a record $104.58
Electronic-components distributor Avnet (AVT) joined the Stock Spotlight list. The company supplies electronic components, cables and other products to artificial-intelligence data centers. On Sept. 25, Avnet shares reached an intraday record of $104.58 and closed at a record high.
Keysight Technologies (KEYS) was also added. Keysight provides electronic measurement systems, and the screen looks for companies with solid fundamentals that are approaching a potential breakout phase. Pandora Media (P) and Seanergy Maritime (SHIP) were removed from Stock Spotlight.
As of 5:50 p.m. Eastern time on Sept. 25, 2026, the day’s list updates were complete. The changes covered navigation equipment, AI servers, cybersecurity, gold mining, electronic components and electronic measurement, reflecting continued adjustments based on earnings growth, industry performance and share-price trends.
