TRON founder Justin Sun discussed stablecoins, institutional adoption, AI agent payments and quantum computing at two digital-asset conferences in Singapore. He said AI agents could eventually pay for digital services and manage some financial activity on users’ behalf. TRON also says it has deployed end-to-end post-quantum signature support on its Nile testnet, though it has not disclosed technical details or plans for a mainnet rollout. The topics touch on both demand for stablecoin settlement and the cryptographic challenges blockchains may face as computing capabilities advance.
DAS Asia puts stablecoins and institutions in focus
On October 7, Sun took part in a fireside chat with Blockworks co-founder Michael Ippolito at the main venue of Digital Asset Summit (DAS) Asia 2026, held at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. They discussed stablecoin development, institutional participation, AI agent payments and TRON’s role in the global digital-asset economy.
Sun said tokenized assets and stablecoins are becoming part of practical financial infrastructure, particularly for cross-border payments and access to digital dollars and US assets. He also discussed the potential role of AI agents in economic activity, saying they could eventually make payments, buy digital services and handle some financial tasks for users.
TOKEN2049 conversation covers AI agents and quantum security
On October 8, Sun appeared on the main stage at TOKEN2049 Singapore for a conversation with Kevin Follonier, founder of When Shift Happens. The discussion covered blockchain, stablecoins, AI agents and changes in the global financial system.
On quantum computing, Sun said blockchain networks need to prepare for advances in the field. TRON, he said, has deployed end-to-end post-quantum signature support on its Nile testnet. No further details were provided about the feature’s technical design, test results or potential mainnet deployment.
Sun also introduced the Justin Sun Prize, which he described as “the Nobel Prize of the AI era.” He said the project uses a decentralized, zero-trust academic bounty model, organizing research around a list of problems and using machine-based formal verification to confirm advances in fundamental disciplines. Sun presented the initiative as an effort to encourage collaboration between researchers and AI; the description and verification approach reflect his account of the project.
Sun sees AI agents as a potential crypto use case
Sun said AI agents using crypto could become an important industry use case over the next five years. In his view, as agents begin to trade, make payments and carry out tasks autonomously, blockchains could serve as their financial settlement infrastructure. TRON aims to provide a settlement layer that is fast, efficient and easy to use, he said. These are Sun’s views on the sector’s development, not a quantified forecast of adoption or timing.
TRON DAO attended TOKEN2049 Singapore as a title sponsor and also took part in DAS Asia 2026. The organization had a booth highlighting its work on stablecoin payments, decentralized applications and AI financial infrastructure, and held networking events for creators and media professionals.
TRON DAO reports network figures
TRON DAO says the TRON mainnet launched in May 2018. As of October 2026, it reports more than 407 million cumulative user accounts, over 15 billion cumulative transactions and total value locked (TVL) of more than $28 billion. The organization also says more than $94 billion of USDT is circulating on TRON, which it describes as settlement infrastructure for stablecoin trading and everyday payments.
These figures are provided by TRON DAO and cover network accounts, transactions, TVL and stablecoin supply. On their own, they do not indicate user activity levels, asset risk or how far the post-quantum feature has progressed toward practical use.
