The cryptocurrency market pulled back on Monday, Sept. 28, with Bitcoin and Ether each losing about 2% and total market capitalization falling roughly 4.5% from the previous session. Quant (QNT), Bitway (BTW) and XDC Network (XDC), however, ranked among the strongest performers in the top 100 crypto assets, with each move tied to a different market catalyst.
Quant extends weekly gain to 260%
Quant was one of the day's strongest tokens, rising 32.85% intraday to $238.20. Based on prices at publication, QNT had gained 260% over the previous week. The rally began on Sept. 24, when The Clearing House selected Quant to operate its tokenized deposit network.
The Clearing House is owned by 25 of the largest banks in the United States, and the network is scheduled to open in the first half of 2027. The agreement has focused market attention on Quant's progress in bank payments and tokenized deposits.
On the same day, Barclays UK, HSBC UK and NatWest completed live sterling-denominated tokenized payment transactions on the Quant platform. Those banking developments provide a clear market backdrop for QNT's recent advance. Even after the rally, however, QNT remained about 47% below its all-time high of $427.42, set in September 2021.
Bitway reaches a record $1.43
Bitway, a Bitcoin-focused Layer 1 blockchain project, also moved sharply higher. BTW rose as much as 28.3% to $1.38 and touched a record $1.43 earlier on Monday. At that level, its weekly gain reached 75%, putting its market capitalization at about $3.7 billion.
Bitway had not announced a new exchange listing or protocol upgrade by Monday, leaving no specific project announcement to directly explain the move. The clearest recent catalyst was the Binance Wallet Booster Season 5 campaign, which runs through Oct. 2.
BTW's rally also came as capital rotated into parts of the altcoin market. The Blockchain Center Altcoin Season Index stood at 59 on Monday, still within neutral territory but well above its reading below 25 in July. The index last moved out of the so-called "Bitcoin season" on Sept. 2, indicating that interest in selected altcoins had recovered from its summer lows.
XDC rises alongside Sibos Miami and validator changes
XDC Network was another leading performer, gaining about 12%. The move came as attention around the project increased during Sibos Miami and as new validators joined the network.
Sibos is a major event for the financial infrastructure and payments industries. XDC's performance during the event window suggests that traders were monitoring its blockchain applications for businesses and financial institutions. Available information does not point to a single announcement that fully accounts for the price move; event-related attention, validator changes and broader altcoin rotation may all have contributed.
The three tokens gained on a day when Bitcoin and Ether weakened, indicating that capital was not leaving crypto assets across the board but was instead concentrating in a smaller group of projects with identifiable event catalysts or elevated trading interest. Quant had the most specific banking-related developments, Bitway rose without a corresponding listing or protocol announcement, and XDC's move coincided with an industry event and changes among its network participants.
