Dell Shares Rally After Breaking Nine-Week Consolidation
Dell Technologies (DELL) recently surged following a breakout from a nine-week consolidation range, drawing renewed attention from investors. Wells Fargo Securities analyst Aaron Rakers upgraded Dell’s price target from $505 to $545, citing further upside potential.
The breakout occurred on August 4, when the stock surpassed the buy point at $469.47. Despite a sharp pullback over the next two days, which triggered stop-loss sales after a drop exceeding 7%, the stock quickly rebounded into the buy zone. On the following trading day, Dell hit a record intraday high of $514 before stabilizing slightly.
By intraday trading on August 14, shares climbed modestly to $498.39, reflecting sustained buyer interest.
Analyst Emphasizes Growth from AI-Optimized Server Sales
In a client report, Rakers expressed confidence ahead of Dell’s fiscal 2027 second-quarter earnings announcement scheduled for September 3. He highlighted AI-focused server sales as a key driver for robust revenue growth.
Rakers pointed to Dell’s collaboration with Nvidia (NVDA) on the Vera Rubin computing platform as pivotal for expanding its AI server offerings. This initiative is expected to be a significant revenue engine for Dell going forward. While the company’s fiscal 2027 outlook remains conservative due to current supply constraints and allocation challenges, Rakers believes Dell’s supply chain expertise and scale should help ease these issues, enabling the company to meet strong market demand over time.
