Rakuten Wallet plans to give away physical SHIB-themed coins at a seminar in Japan on November 3, offering an in-person promotion for holders of the token. The metal coins are collectibles only: they have no blockchain functionality and do not represent SHIB. The announcement comes as SHIB fell 2.23% over 24 hours, while hotter-than-expected US inflation data renewed attention to the interest-rate outlook.
SHIB coin giveaway set for November 3
Rakuten Wallet announced the promotion on October 15. A senior analyst from the company, Matsuda, is scheduled to attend the “Investment Academy × Foreign Exchange Economics Academy” seminar, hosted by Rakuten Securities on November 3, a Japanese public holiday. Visitors can take part by showing staff the SHIB holdings page in their Rakuten Wallet app at the company’s booth.
The platform has distributed similar keepsakes at previous events, including one in Fukuoka. It also plans to continue the promotion at seminars in Sapporo and Osaka. The events give Rakuten Wallet a chance to meet token holders directly and bring crypto assets into seminars focused on investment education and foreign-exchange economics.
Metal keepsakes are not SHIB tokens
Rakuten Wallet launched its physical SHIB commemorative coin in July 2026. Made of metal, the coin has a sandblasted finish. Despite its Shiba Inu branding, it cannot be used for blockchain transactions and is not the SHIB token itself; it is intended as a collectible and promotional item.
The company’s “Real Coin” range also includes physical coins themed around Bitcoin, Ethereum and XRP. Adding SHIB extends Rakuten Wallet’s offline outreach to crypto communities. The platform listed SHIB for trading in April and has since used in-person events to engage with holders.
SHIB falls as rate outlook draws attention
SHIB was down 2.23% over the 24 hours surrounding the announcement. US inflation came in above expectations, prompting renewed market attention to the potential path of interest rates. No specific price or trading-volume data was provided, so the reported decline shows only the token’s move over that period and does not establish that the promotion affected its market performance.
Participants should distinguish the physical giveaway from digital assets held in their accounts: the metal coin does not correspond to an on-chain balance or replace a SHIB holding. To claim one, visitors must show their Rakuten Wallet app at the event. The number of coins available and any additional participation requirements were not disclosed.
