Despite the recent fluctuations and adjustments in the A-share market, foreign institutional enthusiasm for research remains unabated. Statistics show that from October 1 to November 28, over 300 foreign institutions intensively researched A-share companies, including global asset management giants like BlackRock, Fidelity, JPMorgan, and Allianz, indicating foreign investors' long-term confidence in China's capital market.
Semiconductors are a Focus for Foreign Capital
Among all the industries studied, the semiconductor sector attracted the most attention from foreign institutions. Companies like Montage Technology, Maxscend, DoMicroelectronics, AMEC, and Will Semiconductor became key targets for foreign research, with each company hosting joint research meetings with over 15 foreign institutions. For example, according to the investor relations record disclosed on November 8 by Montage Technology, Allianz, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, Neuberger Berman, and the hedge fund giant Point72 all participated in the research activities.
During the investigations, institutions showed great interest in Montage Technology's clock chip business. The company stated that the market space for clock chips is considerable and that they have completed mass production development of clock generator chips and are developing new products such as clock buffer chips.
Similarly, AMEC disclosed in its investor relations records that institutions such as Fidelity, Allianz, Baring Asset Management, and Point72 participated in the company's analyst meetings and performance briefings, focusing on the company's technological developments and market strategies.
Industrial Machinery, Electronics, and Pharmaceuticals Also Favored
In addition to semiconductors, the industrial machinery, electronics, and pharmaceutical sectors have also gained significant attention from foreign institutions. Leading companies in these industries, such as Huaming Equipment, Mindray Medical, Center Testing, Luxshare-ICT, Lens Technology, Opta, and SupCON, frequently appear on foreign research lists.
For instance, Mindray Medical, as a leading enterprise in the pharmaceutical field, has repeatedly received foreign institutional research visits. Foreign institutions focus on its technological innovations and globalization strategy. Additionally, Zhongke Technology in the industrial automation field and Opta in the optical electronics sector are also favored by foreign investors because of their industry advantages.
Structural Opportunities Recognized by Foreign Investors
Despite market volatility, foreign institutions generally believe that there are still numerous structural opportunities in the current A-share market. Through in-depth research, foreign investors are not only seeking high-quality stocks but also aim to uncover the long-term growth potential of the A-share market.
At present, the continued focus of foreign investors on key industries in the A-shares market reflects their confidence in China's economic resilience and the prospects of the technology sector. In the future, as the capital market further opens up, foreign investors may continue to increase their investment in the Chinese market, becoming significant players in the A-share market.
