The report also mentioned that ChatGPT currently has over 800 million weekly active users. During a previous optimization window, the company issued a "code red" mobilization for product improvement last December, pausing certain projects to concentrate resources on enhancing the chatbot's experience and capabilities.
Product Pace: New Chat Model Set to Launch, Codex Usage "Skyrockets"
To maintain its leading edge, OpenAI reportedly plans to launch an updated chat model this week to respond to competition from Google, Anthropic, and others. Meanwhile, Altman also highlighted the momentum of the coding product Codex in internal messages—its usage reportedly increased by about 50% from the previous week, which he described as "crazy."
