Several U.S. stocks advanced on Oct. 27 as they appeared on Investor’s Business Daily (IBD) watchlists. Mastercard joined the Big Cap 20, flash storage and AI-related company Everpure entered the IBD 50 watchlist, and energy producer Range Resources closed higher for a fourth straight session after reporting results. The list changes track company performance and share-price trends; inclusion does not indicate future performance.
Mastercard added after record high
Mastercard, headquartered in Purchase, New York, carries IBD’s top Composite Rating of 99. Its shares broke out of a cup-with-handle pattern on Oct. 13 at a buy point of $601.23, then reached a record $633.29 last Thursday before moving into a consolidation. On Oct. 27, the stock was added to the IBD Big Cap 20.
Mastercard has posted double-digit revenue and earnings growth in every quarter since the quarter ended in March 2023. Analysts polled by FactSet expect another quarter of double-digit growth. The company’s sustained results and recent share-price performance form the backdrop to its addition to the list.
Everpure climbs as NetApp nears its peak
Everpure shares rose 5.6% on Tuesday, extending their gains to a third consecutive session, and were added to the IBD 50 watchlist. NetApp, another company tied to the buildout of AI data centers, also closed higher for a third straight session. Its shares moved closer to the record high of $240.87 set on Oct. 10. NetApp has a Composite Rating of 99, placing it in the top 1% of stocks covered by IBD’s rating system.
Range Resources rises after earnings
Oil and gas producer Range Resources reported results on Tuesday, and its shares gained 5.3%, their fourth consecutive daily advance. The stock had risen 3.8% and 17.7% in the previous two sessions. The moves show elevated share-price volatility around the results announcement; no specific earnings figures or outlook were provided in the available information.
Healthcare research company Illumina also finished higher, posting a gain in six of the past seven sessions. Five stocks were added to various IBD lists that day, including categories such as IBD Sector Leaders. IBD updates its screens regularly, adding and removing stocks based on characteristics that include early-stage price moves and other performance criteria. Inclusion is not a buy recommendation.
