Grok has outlined an extreme scenario in which global banks and payment networks use the XRP Ledger (XRPL) to settle tokenized deposits and institutional stablecoins. Greater demand for XRP as a bridge and liquidity asset could, under those conditions, lift its price to $35–$65 by January 1, 2027, with an extreme case exceeding $100. This is not a base-case forecast: the cross-industry coordination it requires has no clear real-world basis at present.
The central question is not simply what chart patterns suggest, but whether banks and payment firms will use XRPL for settlement at scale. If large volumes of fiat-backed assets move over the network, demand for XRP as a bridge asset could grow. For now, that remains a scenario dependent on major catalysts, not an established shift in business activity.
XRP consolidates between $1.24 and $1.28
Recent market analysis cited in the scenario shows XRP trading mainly around $1.24–$1.28 over a longer timeframe after recent volatility. The price remains above some intermediate-term support levels, while the $1.35–$1.45 area has acted as resistance. In a conventional bull market, a sustained move above $1.60–$1.80 could signal a stronger intermediate-term trend and bring the previous high of about $3.65 back into focus.
If XRP clears that high, the extreme scenario also looks to measured moves from the long-term bottom and Fibonacci extensions. But current technical indicators are neutral to corrective; they do not establish that a sharp rally is imminent. Near-term support is seen at $1.20–$1.22, followed by $1.10–$1.15. Holding those levels would help preserve the broader recovery structure.
Ripple’s institutional business and RLUSD
Ripple’s recent institutional developments provide context for debate about XRP’s long-term utility, but they do not mean banks have chosen XRPL as a primary settlement network. At Swell 2026, Ripple said it expects annualized product revenue to reach about $900 million by year-end. The business spans payments, custody, corporate treasury management and stablecoin solutions.
Ripple has also received final approval from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) to establish a national trust bank, bringing federal oversight to its reserve and custody infrastructure. Meanwhile, BNY has expanded its partnership with Ripple to offer custody of XRP and RLUSD to institutional clients and advance a tokenized trade-finance project on XRPL.
Ripple’s stablecoin RLUSD has a market capitalization of about $2.6 billion and is listed on Coinbase, Robinhood, Binance and Kraken. Chief Executive Brad Garlinghouse has also reaffirmed the company’s commitment to XRP, saying Ripple “will never abandon” the asset. These developments show an expanding institutional and stablecoin business, but whether they translate into sustained, significant on-chain demand for XRP depends on actual usage and market choices.
The $35–$65 case rests on extreme assumptions
Grok’s $35–$65 range, and its extension above $100, depends on several conditions coming together: coordinated adoption of XRPL by banks and payment networks worldwide, large-scale settlement of tokenized deposits and institutional stablecoins over the ledger, and a strong crypto bull market. If any of these conditions fail to materialize, the scenario may no longer hold.
The figures are therefore best understood as a highly speculative exercise, not a reliable XRP price forecast. The concrete developments cited are Ripple’s product-revenue target, OCC approval, BNY partnership, and RLUSD’s market capitalization and exchange listings. There is not yet evidence that financial institutions worldwide will adopt XRPL at the scale the scenario assumes.
